My Top 3 Favorite Business Resources

July 24, 2020

Hey girl, hey! Fancy seeing you here… come here often? (Fingers crossed the answer is yes) 😉

Okay, cheesiness aside. Let’s chat business resources. As business owners, we all have them right? They’re crucial to a successful workflow and although each may hold a different amount of importance within your business, they are all necessary for getting the job done most efficiently or conveniently. And we all can agree that’s important, correct? If you aren’t nodding your head at the computer screen… you should be.

So without further ado, let’s hop right into it. Here are my top three favorite business resources, why I like them, and a special link to help get you straight to ’em:

  1. HoneyBook – This platform is incredible. It houses all of your projects, but also organizes them into workflows and allows you to upload things like your price sheet, invoice items, contracts, questionnaires, and more so that everything can be canned and set to send automatically as your project moves forward through each step. You can save client info, send emails, track your bookkeeping, check your calendar, collect leads, and more… all from your homepage. It’s honestly pretty life changing. I used to use Dubsado to house my projects but honestly, HoneyBook is 100% better. It is so much more intuitive and user friendly. It does cost about $10 more per month than Dubsado does… but I have a special link (click here) that will give you 20% off. Honestly such a steal!! I love HoneyBook SO much. I can’t believe I’ve waited so long to try it.
  2. Unsplash – A free stock photography library. And the photos don’t suck. Honestly, they’re better than most paid stock photography. The point of the platform is to allow new creatives to get their name out there… and their work is beautiful! As a brand designer, this platform helps so much when I need stock photography for a client’s moodboard, website, or socials. But as a business owner it’s great too. Some of the images I use on Poised Avenue come straight from Unsplash!
  3. Flodesk – Oh my gosh, Flodesk!! Guys, this is another one I can’t believe I didn’t use earlier on. After using MailChimp for all of my email campaigns for years, I finally switched over to Flodesk after it was recommended to me by a fellow designer. Wow. It is so much more intuitive to use than MailChimp, their platforms lets you input all of your brand elements like your logo and brand colors to be saved and used over and over, and the insights they give you into each email sent is so incredibly helpful. I used to hate email marketing and now I look forward to creating new emails to send out to you guys! The first few months are free… but use this link (or code POISED for existing and new members) to get 50% OFF once your trial ends. Seriously, you won’t regret it. Collecting leads and targeting your audience via email is such a great way to market your business. Especially when the email campaigns are as easy to design as they are in Flodesk!

Alright, there you have it. I seriously couldn’t live without these three platforms. Okay, okay maybe that’s a bit dramatic. But really, my business would definitely not be as smooth running if it weren’t for them.
