Teacher Stationery: Custom Notecards for Back to School

August 26, 2025

Personalized back to school stationery isn’t just a beautiful accessory on your desk, it’s a practical and meaningful tool for you as a teacher! Custom designed teacher stationery adds a thoughtful touch to notes sent from your classroom, whether to parents, students, or colleagues.

I remember my 6th grad teacher so vividly. She was one of the best teachers I had in elementary school, but I think the reason she stands out so much to me is because of how much she clearly cared for each of her students. So much of what she did was personal and thoughtful.

A personalized note from a teacher can make a student’s day. Whether it’s a congratulatory message for excellent work, words of encouragement, or a birthday greeting, writing it on a personalized notecard makes it that much more special. And I truly think that it’s these small gestures that help build strong connections, boost student confidence, and create an overall better classroom setting.

But besides keeping a pretty stack of custom notecards on your desk,

Here are Five More Ways to Utilize your back to school stationery:

  1. Notes home! A short handwritten note home shows parents you took time to acknowledge their child personally, which helps strengthen the teacher-parent relationship, too. And what better way than to do it on a pretty notecard?
  2. Classroom thank you notes! As a teacher, I’m sure you get a countless number of volunteers to your classroom each year. So, next time you need to thank your Room Mom, reach for your personal stationery! Add a gift card to your favorite coffee shop, and you have the perfect tiny thank-you gift.
  3. Sub notes! Leave a personal note for your sub, thanking them for watching over your classroom for you.
  4. Professional notes! Need to drop a quick note to a colleague? Jot it down on your personal stationery and drop it in their box or on their desk. Not only will they know exactly who it came from, but it’ll be on a polished piece of stationery (win win!).
  5. Welcome/End of Year Notes! Whether you decide to write one for each of your students or for their parents, starting or ending the year with a personal note is never a bad idea. And putting it on custom stationery turns it into a keepsake for the student to remember you by. I know that as a parent, this is something I would love to get from one of my daughters’ teachers to tuck away in their file cabinet for the year. (But I adore mementos like this to look back on.)
