These delicious cookies are my take on a Pinterest recipe I found for 4th of July. Rather than using the red, white, and blue m&ms the original recipe suggests in the cookies, I used dark and white chocolate to create these soft, irresistible cookies & cream cookies!
Do note that these cookies bake soft and refrigerating the dough beforehand helps a lot. If you find your cookies are too soft after the 10 minutes, keep them in the oven for a few minutes longer until they’re a bit more set. But remember, they will stiffen as they cool. Plus… they’re absolutely delicious straight out of the oven when they’re doughy and warm!
Ingredients
- 1 vanilla cake mix (I love Trader Joe’s!)
- 8 TBS unsalted buter, softened
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 14 Oreo cookies (semi-crushed)
- 1/4 cup dark chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup white chocolate chips
Instructions
- Mix together the dry cake mix, butter, cream cheese, egg, and vanilla until combined
- Slowly add in the Oreo cookie chunks, being careful not to over mix
- Slowly add in the chocolate chips (both dark and white), mix until evenly distributed
- Refrigerate the dough for 30 minutes to 1 hour
- While the dough chills, heat the oven to 350 F
- Scoop the dough into even balls (about 25 cookies) and arrange on a cookie sheet (be aware that the dough spreads a bit)
- Bake for 10 minutes
- Remove from the oven and let cool
- Enjoy!
